PCR TESTING FOR COVID
The PCR test requires a sample of the patient’s respiratory secretions collected from the nostrils and pharynx with a swab. From this sample, the presence of SARS-CoV-2 is assessed by detecting the genetic material of the virus itself. Therefore, this test will identify whether the virus is in your body. One of the basic features of PCR is its high reliability when performed properly and by professionals. The assessment can be known the same day the sample is taken. RAPID ANTIGEN TEST
ANTIGEN TESTS are also performed with a sample from the nostrils or throat for 35 euros. In the case of this test, what is detected are certain proteins of the virus. A swab is also used to collect the sample. The evaluation of this test can be done in less than half an hour. However, it is advisable to contrast the negative result with another obtained from an antibody test or a PCR.
